Day 195: Fish & Chips and Coconut Shrimp at Big Daddy`s Fish Fry

Only one crab in the trap today, and not big enough to keep. Plan B: use cat food as bait.

So when we went to the pier to see the tall ships come in, we were forced to stop at Big Daddy`s Fish Fry for fish and chips and coconut shrimp. Sorry Big Daddy, if I had to choose between you and Troll`s at Horseshoe Bay, I`d go Trolling all the way.

All was as fine and dandy as could be expected when 13 people, half of them under 10, try to jockey for position at a crowded outdoor fish & chips shack on a Sunday afternoon in Tofino. That is, until W disappeared and we found him minutes later a couple picnic tables down, pants off, peeing on one of the trees surrounding the tiny patio, which was situated beside two full tables of tourists who obviously didn’t have children of their own.

That cut dinner shorter than usual. Which was not a bad thing, because we headed back to the house and paddled around on the kayaks instead.

I have been taking a ton of pictures, food-related and not. Unfortunately I seem to have run into a technical glitch my un-technically-inclined brain is having a hard time overcoming, particularly in an environment of such technical irrelevance. Unless you count selecting the flattest, smoothest, most aerodynamic rock possible for skipping across the inlet, which I suppose would . One of these days I`ll have a small aha moment and be able to upload a whack of photos at once.

I have to agree with you, Trolls in Horseshoe Bay is the best! Whenever I come back to the West Coast, that is the first place I hit before I get on the ferry to go to Gibsons, where I grew up. Ahh the memories!
