Turkey Chili with Butternut Squash & Apples
Turkey Chili with Butternut Squash & Apples
AuthorJulie
canola or olive oil, for cooking
1 onion, peeled and chopped
1 carrot, peeled and chopped
1-2 celery stalks, chopped
1 lb (454 g) ground turkey
1/4-1/2 cup chopped cilantro
2-4 garlic cloves, crushed
2 Tbsp chili powder
1 Tbsp cumin
salt and freshly ground pepper
2-3 cups chicken stock
1 small butternut squash, peeled and diced
1 large tart apple, diced
1 14 oz (398 mL) can diced or crushed tomatoes
1 14 oz (398 mL) can coconut milk
1 19 oz (540 mL) can black beans, drained
1
Set a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat and add a generous drizzle of oil. Add the onion, carrot and celery and cook for 4-5 minutes, until starting to soften. Add the turkey and cook, breaking up with a spoon, until the meat is no longer pink. Add the cilantro (if you like, save some of the leaves for garnish), garlic, chili powder, cumin, and some salt and pepper and cook for another minute.
2
Add the stock, squash, apple, tomatoes, coconut milk and black beans. Bring to a simmer and cook for 30-45 minutes, until the squash is tender and the chili has thickened. Season with more salt, if it needs it. Serve right away or cool and refrigerate overnight, then reheat the next day. Serves 6.

What are your favorite healthy ingredients to add to chili that make it more filling without losing flavor?
I like adding vegetables such as butternut squash, beans, sweet potatoes, or bell peppers because they make chili more nutritious while keeping it hearty and delicious. Recipes like this are perfect for meal prep and family dinners. Speaking of staying organized, I also keep important online resources bookmarked. For education professionals in Mexico, Mi Portal FONE is a helpful platform for accessing payroll records and employment information. Does adding butternut squash and apples to turkey chili make the flavor sweeter, or does it still taste like traditional chili?
Adding butternut squash and apples to turkey chili sounds like a delicious way to balance savory and slightly sweet flavors. The squash adds a creamy texture, while the apples bring natural sweetness without overpowering the spices. It seems like a comforting meal, especially during colder evenings.
I also think homemade chili is perfect for a relaxing movie night with family. After preparing dinner, some people enjoy exploring entertainment options like netmirror apk to learn about streaming features and compatible devices. A warm bowl of chili and a good movie can make an ordinary evening feel special.
Is your OnStream APK
not working on your Android phone or TV? Does the app fail to open, keep loading, crash, or stop playing movies and shows? These problems can be frustrating, especially when you do not know what is causing them.
The good news is that many OnStream problems can be fixed with a few simple steps. The issue may be your internet connection, an old app version, low storage, a damaged APK file, or a problem with the streaming source
